Earlier today, I suggested Oregon was struggling to land elite recruits at other than the skill positions of QB, WR, RB, and DB

Here’s a comparison:

Rivals 5.9 and higher rated recruits committed, 2013-2016 classes
Offensive linemen: Stanford 4, Oregon o.
Defensive linemen: Stanford 1, Oregon 1 (Canton Kaumatuele).
Linebackers: Stanford 2, Oregon 0

Stanford skill positions over that stretch:
QB: Costello and Chryst. both 6.0; Burns, 5.9
RB: Scarlett, McCaffrey and Love, all 5.9
TE: Smith 6.0, Schultz 5.9
WR: Irwin, 6.1
DB: Long and Buncom, both 5.9

Oregon, same stretch:
QB: Walker, 6.0
RB: Tyner 6.1; Freeman and Griffin, both 6.0; James and Lovette, both 5.9
WR: Jalen Brown, 5.9
DB: Robinson, Breeze, and Robinson, all 5.9

As always, these are just recruiting rankings, but they also strongly reflect the intensity with which the players have been recruited by top 20 programs.
