I honestly can't wrap my head around how awful these programs are at the moment.
Cal
- Pissed off their "franchise" QB and his family during the season by making promises to the other transfer QB
- Replaced the Offensive coaches the day before NSD and lost their franchise QB recruit
- Hired Brian Harsin as new OC, and lost their current franchise QB and their best WR, a Frosh
Stanford
- A new GM takes ownership of a 6-18 Head Coach
- That Head Coach brings in a co-DC, alienating the current one, and the players who will run through a wall for him
- The new GM has to go plead with players not to transfer because the Head Coach he endorsed is doing things those players don't like
And people wonder why these programs suck? Wilcox and Knowlton have to go from Cal ASAP, but at least they didn't just hire someone new who embraced their proven loser Head Coach. Troy Taylor's must go from Stanford ASAP. The longer he stays, the more damage he will do to Luck's reputation, and in turn Levin's.
At this point, neither program deserves to be taken seriously by entities that might include them in the next iteration of the sport. The next smart decision they make will be the first one in a combined decade of futility and folly.
