Absolutely infuriating. Cal is doing laps around us in the transfer portal. Devin Brown never even gave the Golden Bears a sniff coming out of high school and now transfers to them after failing to win the starting QB job at Ohio State. Given who's come before him on the depth chart (Stroud, McCord, and Howard), there's actually a decent chance that Brown's actually a good P4-caliber QB who happened to get stuck behind some talented signal callers in Columbus.

Once upon a time, we were considered to be on Brown's shortlist favorites alongside presumptive favorite USC, who he eventually committed to until switching his commitment to Ohio State right before NSD. Doesn't sound like we even offered during this latest transfer portal cycle but he fits the mold of everything we should be looking for: former blue chip P4 QB that's looking for a fresh start after accruing valuable experience at a winning program. Unless I'm mistaken, we have yet to even make one offer to a QB thus far.

I'm certainly not giving up on Brown or Bachmeier but given the fact that each of them has 4+ years of eligibility, we could certainly stand to bring in an experienced veteran QB with 1-2 years of eligibility while our young guys mature and gain necessary experience. But for some reason we have our sights set on loading up on more WRs and RBs (two positions that weren't exactly areas of need last time I checked). What am I missing here??
