apologies to Erich Maria Remarque...from Iowa AD and a former Cal-Penn State AD's perspective:
my best guess is that there will now be at least a year's pause as the landscape clarifies a bit... all realignment lines in the interim to remain static after USC-Ucla defection, for at least another year... as we await 2024 coming closer to the new reality. Meanwhile the phones keep working and the algorithms/spreadsheets keep churning. And the shadows on Plato's cave continue their subtle movement. Maybe this gives the slimmed-down Pac12 and its Commissioner a decent chance to forge a more favorable outcome? Stay tuned for awhile.
