Frost views UCF as an ideal turnaround opportunity after the Knights went 0-12 this year. There is some talent there and he is in "happy hunting ground" with central Florida's recruiting riches within a 2 hour driving radius and the gulf coast only an hour further (Tampa Bay area). There's usually enough talent in the Orlando Metro League to fill a recruiting class every year but of course UF, FSU and Miami are also working that area.
It's not unusual to see the bulk of the SEC, ACC, Big-10 and some Big-12 recruiters to come through an Orlando high school to check transcripts and look at film within the first 3 days of the May evaluation period during Florida high school's spring drills.
UCF might be the stepping stone Scott is looking for on the way to his dream job at UN in Lincoln. He was a finalist at Boise State 2 years ago when Harkins got the job and turned down two offers this Novenber including 1.2m annually to take the Syracuse job. His UCF contract is for 5 years at 1.7m a year. A bright, young innovative coach on his way - Oregon will miss him.
