- Hogan is really surrounded by incredible college weapons. Has the ability to win a shootout now and it looks like he is going to have to.
- Speaking of weapons, and I can't believe I am saying this, the 2015 3 TE set is as good, if not better, than any previous version. Probably not a 1St rounder in the group but collectively pose some serious issues. Just big play after big play. The latest a 42 -yrd TD to Hoop.
- Funny that Shaw spoke about an OT competition in August camp between Tucker and Davidson. Bright is clearly the swing OT and still a surprise to me that he isn't the RG.
- Speaking of the head ball coach, and I know you are reading this , you don't give up the ball on 4th and 8 from the 48 for 23 yards of field position. COPY/PASTE. Shootouts are coming!
- Kalambayi played every snap into the 4th Q. WHY IS HE STILL ON KO COVER? And why is he covering kicks in the FOURTH QUARTER????
- Scarlett's injury was of the non-contact variety. He jogged off, but.....
- It's really hard for me to watch 75 play. Good kid. Nice family.
- Interesting nugget from our goal-line D at the 1 yrd line. There was not 1 DB on the field. Have never seen that from this staff.
- Bryce Love had more plays for minus yards(2) as he did plus(1)
- As noted elsewhere, Okereke made his college debut on KO return. Schultz, Taboada and Wright have joined him, replacing Lloyd, Shober, Perez and Palma from earlier in the season.
- Reid is electric and flashes specifically on run support. He is going to be a really fun watch along with Edwards. I worry a little about injury here as he is reckless and not too big.
- Speaking of injury, Is Turley still on staff?
- And finally, Rollins Stallworth was on the field with an ogre 21 times VS OSU. Stanford ran the ball 21 times. Rollins Stallworth is a WR.
WHITFIELD - Not because he started and played every snap (until game was not in doubt), but because he put his versatility on tape for NFL teams as a nickel cover guy.
JORDAN - Shaw gives him an "official" start and later Hogan gives him a pass. Poor guy was so shocked he tackled himself. And the play was wiped off.
REID - First college start and goes the distance at free safety.
LOHN - Earliest action of career even before the injuries hit the DL.
BRIGHT - Took over for Murph at LT ($$)
FANAIKA - Early FB action then takes over at ogre when Murph goes down.
TABOADA - Reps saw a spike but not targets.
ARROW DOWN
IRWIN - A couple snaps and 1 drop. I don't think the staff liked it too much. Did not return.
EDWARDS - Shows up here only because Reid emerges as the first safety from the class to be an impact.
MEEKS - Interesting. Kodi moves to nickel but Meeks never enters even in must-pass mode for Beavers. As I have mentioned before, he is not a good tackler but I sense there may be a message being sent here.
TYLER - Only one series into the 4th Q as OLB3. Really watched Alfieri, and I am aware of all the love he is receiving much like the Lancaster Cult of previous years, but I'm just not seeing it yet. I don't think the RT from OSU was too impressed either. Really good motor though. KA is going to be really missed.
AUSTIN/DAVIDSON - Bright is the swing OT.
