Four Stanford pitchers combined to hurl Stanford to a 2-0 shutout and four game series sweep over Rice today. Stanford remains undefeated at 8-0 and has used dominate pitching to win mostly contested games. The shutout dropped the staff's ERA to 2.25 which I suspect easily is the best among D-1 teams.
When the new polls are released tomorrow, Stanford should move up several spots. North Carolina, LSU. TCU, and Arkansas all of whom were ranked ahead of Stanford now have multiple losses.
Stanford hosts Michigan this Friday night in the first of a four game series with a double header scheduled for Saturday.
