Basketball Recruiting Four-star Cam Holmes intrigued by Michigan, Dayton, Stanford

Read that here. Courtesy of Rob Cassidy. I actually caught up with Holmes this week. So stay tuned for that. The skinny it's very early in the process for him, but he seems to have a positive attitude towards Stanford so far.

Funny: Cal’s lack of a national brand

Are our rivals uc berkeley? Or cal?
As small as our fan base may be, at least we know who we are 😂

“In a Tuesday announcement about UC Berkeley’s rebrand, the university said it conducted a survey that determined that one-quarter of San Francisco Bay Area residents didn’t know Berkeley and Cal are the same school. Nationally, two-thirds of people thought the names referred to separate schools.”

Football Recruiting Articles on 2025 4-star safety CJ Jimcoily including Stanford in his top four

As was mentioned earlier today in the recruiting notes thread, 2025 4-star safety CJ Jimcoily announced a top four of Stanford, Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU. Stanford official visit May 31st, Tennessee official visit June 7th, LSU official visit June 14th, and Alabama official visit June 21st. A couple of different articles were put out today about him from the Rivals network. The national article by Sam Spiegelman is here. The article from Dale Dowden of Rivals' Tennessee site is here. And then in case you missed it, my most recent article on Jimcoily is here.

Stanford appears to have a real shot here. Obviously, all these official visits are going to be crucial.

Football Recruiting Recruiting Rumor Mill: Prospects plan visits as busy June looms

Read that here. Courtesy of Adam Gorney. The following Stanford recruits are mentioned: 2025 4-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola and 2026 4-star wide receiver Madden Williams. Babalola is taking an official visit to Stanford June 6th. Stanford appears to be in a good spot with him. And then Madden Williams visited in January for an Elite Day. So Stanford is making a real effort with him as well.

Coaches Swing In Los Angeles

I believe there is a Caoches Swing in Los Angeles tonight with Taylor, Smith and Paye among the coaches. Anyone here attending? There are opportunities at these events to ask questions/get intel that isn’t always forthcoming at other gatherings (e.g., during the cocktail reception mingling or during the Q&A after the presentations). Maybe whoever is going can try and ask some of the burning questions of the day from this forum?

Men’s WP having success through the transfer portal

Surprised to see that the MWP team has gotten two very good transfers. (I’m more surprised that we haven’t heard it from LBPoly before! )
Our more recent transfer is a GK from Princeton, West Temkin. From coach Flacks, "West is one of the best young goalies in the United States, and we're thrilled to welcome him to The Farm," said Flacks. "I had the privilege of coaching West on the USA National Youth Team when he was 16 years old, and I can't wait to get the opportunity to coach him again.

Dash McDonald transferred earlier from UCSB and is the reigning POY from the Big West and scored 82 goals last year from the center position. He joins his younger brother Chase on the team. From coach Flacks, "His decision to come to Stanford is another major step for our program, as we want to attract the best players in the world and consistently compete for a national championship. Dash adds enormous talent and depth to the center position and also high-level experience to help lead our young squad.”

Both transfers are from the east Bay (Moraga and Berkeley). West has two years COR eligibility and Dash has one year.

Director'sCup

At the end of the winter sports season, we had a 230 point lead on Texas. It likely won't be enough.

Texas is ranked #1 in softball and #25 in baseball. We'll get some points in softball and none in baseball

The Texas men's golf team is advancing. Stanford's is not.

The Texas women's team is highly unlikely to make the final 8 in golf, but they will score points. Hopefully we will win, but it's a crapshoot and a completely unpredictable sport.

Texas will outscore us significantly in T&F.

In tennis the Texas men placed 2nd. The women lost in the round of 16.
