First and foremost, it's harder to project Stanford's final recruiting class now than it was at this time the last few years because there is more admissions uncertainty. There are a lot of guys who are borderline; that's reflected in the number of players currently committed (11) compared to the number of players committed at this time last year (16).

So 2015 recruiting is still very fluid and there is a lot still to be determined, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

But after touching base with a number of folks this week, here's my updated best guess recruiting class.

Feel free to ask questions below and I will respond the best I can.

Quarterback

None

Running Back

1) Cameron Scarlett
2) Bryce Love

Fullback

3) Reagan Williams
4) Houston Heimuli

Offensive Line

5) Austin Maihen
6) Jack Dreyer
7) Nick Wilson
8) Brian Chaffin

Wide Receiver

9) Trent Irwin
10) J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

Defensive Line

11) Wesley Annan
12) Ross Donelly
13) Dylan Jackson
14) Anree Saint-Amour

Linebacker

15) Gabe Reid
16) Mustafa Branch
17) Jordan Fox
18) Kenneth Brinson
19) Casey Toohill

Defensive Back

20) Arrington Farrar
21) Frank Buncom
22) Justin Reid (IF reports of an LSU offer are inaccurate)
23) Quenton Meeks OR Niko Small OR Ben Edwards OR DB committed elsewhere

Specialist

24) Jake Bailey

*Houston Heimuli and Gabe Reid will serve LDS missions prior to the beginning of their careers. Sean Barton will return from his mission and join the team next year.

So, the actual projected class size is 23.

(You'll recall David Shaw's comments about a possible 18-man class from last month. I would be a bit surprised if it was that low, but my list might be a bit of an optimistic take about guys getting into school - though it's not an unrealistic one.)
